How to Choose a Dog Harness
A good harness should be comfortable for your dog and secure on every walk. Use these steps to narrow down your choice.
1. Measure your dog
Measure around the widest part of the chest and around the neck, then compare both numbers with the size chart. Do not choose by breed alone, because dogs of the same breed can differ in size.
2. Check the fit
The harness should sit snugly without rubbing. As a simple check, you should be able to slide two fingers under the straps. Adjust it again after your dog has moved around.
3. Think about pulling
If your dog pulls on the lead, consider a no-pull design. A harness helps you manage the walk, but it works best alongside regular training.
4. Consider walking conditions
Reflective strips make your dog easier to see at night or in low light. Breathable padding can be more comfortable on warm days and longer walks.
